We often strive to be liked by the people in our lives, but author Sara Dormon says that if you're a Christian and everybody likes you, then something is wrong. That's actually the title of Sara's newest book and in today's episode, we talk about why that's not such a funny joke. Sara is a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and is an advocate for women and children. She writes to share the causes she is passionate about, and to encourage Christians to live out the call on their own lives. Today we talk about adoption and foster care, about unplanned events in life, and just why Christians shouldn't necessarily be liked by everyone.

Rachelle Dekker is a writer, a wife, and a Jesus follower. As the daughter of author Ted Dekker, you might assume that she was destined to be a writer. But it was actually a creative writing course that she took as an elective in college that lit a fire in her heart to share her stories. Sometimes it hardly seems like there are many blessings to count these days, but Deb Wolf would beg to differ. She is known as the Blessing Counter and uses her influence on the web to encourage us to do the same. In addition to being a blessing counter, Deb is a pastor's wife, teacher, mom, and writer. Deb says she is a good little church girl transformed into a woman of faith. She shares her story of growing up in a Christian home and still going through a difficult time. During that time she had to lean on God to put her back together day by day. Deb also shares about her book, Sarah's Garden, and we talked about a recent blog post of hers that is particularly applicable to the ways that people are treating one another these days.

With the current state of affairs in our world, we often need the reminder that God is in control. In today's episode, Kristi Woods reminds us of that very fact. She is a wife and mom of three, a writer, and a lover of God's word. Her family has served our country in the military and are now retired and living in Oklahoma. Kristi takes life seriously but doesn't seem to take herself too seriously and she has a lot of fun along the way! This conversation with Kristi was just like two old friends enjoying a coffee house chat.
